e-waste scavenger hunt

note: this is an older project of mine that is not a fair representation of where my skills remain now. as such, i have removed it from the main view but will leave the page up in case one wishes to see it.
what is it about?
this project’s main focus was a test in rapid prototyping, specifically for making a VR interaction using Unity and Oculus/Meta’s XR Interaction SDK. in the experience, the player places four capacitors on a circuit board in order to make an LED start flashing.

i had described the project as a proof of concept about a polluted world full of discarded electronic commodities, where the playable character has to find what is needed to bring each item they find back into a working state, all to find out why each item ended up where it did.

when i showed this off and described the concept, the idea of the playable character being an “e-waste mouse” seemed to bounce around a lot, and i think i would go with that if i ever decide to take this idea further.

a top-down view showing the bulk of where the user interacted. the capacitors were to be grabbed by the user, and then inserted into the correct slots. doing so would activate an LED on the circuit board.
